The idea of using tax payers' money to bail out private individuals is nothing short of ludicrous.
It can only come from a bunch of lunatics currently running Newcastle City Council.
These councillors should find a proper job, where they would live under market forces. Only then, they'll learn to be humans... rather than idiots.
I pay my bills, I'm very careful with my money, I save, I budget and live within my financial means. Well... will any of these councillors help me in any way?
