It's nothing more than political hijacking by those that would otherwise have little or no purpose in the limelight.

This represents nothing more than another opportunity for the loony brigade to congregate behind a flag bearer's chant. The very issue of 'food miles' lacks any kind merit and at best is another example of that ever present crime in modern politics, 'ill thoughtout policy'.

It's okay for a bus with bigger engine to be on the poster of the green debate yet an aircraft carrying passengers and cargo isn't what hypocritical behaviour.

This smells of the EU attemtping to prejudice consumers into buying local aka European produce at the expense of non-EU farmers. If we continue to adopt this mode of thinking how can certain regions of the world ever drag themselves out of poverty? Like I said we are not thinking this through but then that isn't the strong point of the loonies.

The "Food miles" campaign has always been the usual protectionist garbage designed to protect jobs of inefficient producers and trade unionists in this country. To hell with those struggling to build a life for themselves in the developing world. As usual, Greens lie and people die.
